Zelda turns 30! Celebrate with awesome new merchandise!
Can you believe it? Zelda turns 30 years old this year! The Legend of Zelda was first released in Japan on February 21, 1986, on the Famicom Disk System and quickly came to become one of the most popular game franchises of all time, seeing release on the NES, GBA, N-64 and many more platforms!
The Legend of Zelda was actually inspired by creator Shigeru Miyamoto’s explorations as a young boy in the hillsides around his childhood home in Sonobe, Japan where he explored forests, lakes, caves, and rural villages. According to Miyamoto, one of his most memorable experiences was the discovery of a cave entrance in the middle of the woods. After some hesitation, he entered the cave and explored its depths with the aid of a lantern. Miyamoto has referred to the creation of the Zelda games as an attempt to bring to life a “miniature garden” for players to play with in each game of the series.
To celebrate Link and his adventures 30th anniversary, EMP are proud to present a massive range of new, officially licensed merchandise, including hoodies, t-shirts, tops, bags and much more!
