1. Disney by Couture Kingdom – Elsa Ice Crystal Necklace

Starting off this list is a piece of jewellery that even Elsa would be jealous of. This Elsa Ice Crystal necklace from Couture Kingdom is plated with white gold and comes with an adjustable chain. It’s so beautiful and will definitely catch the attention of your peers.

2. Snow White Hair Tie

I don’t know about you guys but I own a lot of scrunchies.  They’re useful and super cute and this set of Snow White scrunchies are no exception. If you love Snow White then check out my previous blog where I take you through a step by step tutorial on how to achieve Snow White’s iconic makeup look.

3. Cinderella’s Carriage (Pop! Rides) Vinyl Figure 78 Funko Pop!

I always loved how beautiful Cinderella’s carriage was and wished I had one of my own. Although this Funko Pop Carriage is a lot smaller than what I wished for, I still absolutely love it. This set comes with the carriage and two horses, all with incredible detail. Great for both children and adults.

4. Flowers Swimsuit

With the weather being so hot at the moment, a swimsuit is an important part of your wardrobe, even if you are just sitting in a paddling pool in the garden. I absolutely love the deep red colour of this Beauty and the Beast inspired swimsuit and the rose detailing around the top and back is beautiful.

5. Loungefly – Blue or Pink Mini backpacks

This backpack with reversible sequins is perfect for the people who can’t decide between blue and pink, just like Aurora. It comes with adjustable straps and hidden details on the inside.

6. Ariel Hair Masks

I know I’m not the only one who wishes they had hair like Ariel’s from The Little Mermaid. This deep conditioning hair mask is all you need to get beautiful flowing locks like Ariel. Apply to towel-dried hair, leave it for around 5 minutes, rinse it off and then you’re done.

7. Magic Lamp Teapot

If you’ve ever wanted to own a magic lamp, then this is the item for you. This tea set comes with the magic lamp pot and two glasses, each detailed with images of Jasmin and Aladdin. It’s the perfect addition to any Disney Princess themed tea party.

8. Never Stop Dreaming Jeans Jacket

This jean jacket is perfect for the Disney Princess lovers who have a rock chic style. This piece comes covered in detail, from the beading on the shoulder area to the print on the back and arm. It’s definitely one of my favourites on this list.

9. Ariel, Jasmine, Belle and Sleeping Beauty Face masks

If you’re starting to arrange more social distanced gatherings with your friends, why not try out these face masks. Everyone can become a different Disney Princess and they leave your skin feeling super soft.

10. Tiana – Prom Medium-length dress

Last on the list is this beautiful Tiana prom dress. This dress is one of the six in the Disney Princess prom dress range at EMP. There are also dresses in the style of Cinderella, Rapunzel, Ariel, Aurora and Belle. I chose Tiana’s one to be in my top 10 as I love it’s soft green colour and the stunning silver waterlilies at the hem.

If you didn’t see something you liked in this top 10 list then check out the wide range of other Disney Princess merch from EMP here.

Top 10 EMP Summer Fashion Essentials For Women

Although we may not be going on holiday as much as we had hoped for in summer this year, I still believe we can look stylish while enjoying the sun at home. Which is why I’ve picked my top 10 favourite EMP summer fashion items for all the lovely women looking to enjoy the 2020 summer in style.

1. Phoenix Long Dress

Although this summer maxi dress is part of the Harry Potter collection, I think the design is completely versatile and will be loved by both HP fan and non-HP fans. The dress is super comfy and comes with incredible details like the small metal pendant and beads on the drawstring.

2. Beetlejuice Shorts

As I’m a big Beetlejuice fan, I just had to include these shorts in the list. These stylish Beetlejuice shorts are embroidered with brilliant details that reference the film and come with detachable suspenders. Perfect if you’re looking for a pair of shorts you can wear in many different ways.

3. Cherie 50´s Skirt

This is the perfect summer skirt for the people who love the 50’s style. This knee-length skirt is detailed with this really cute cherry pattern and is made from 100% cotton, the perfect light and airy material for any summer day.

4. Dakota Pinafore Dress

This really cute pinafore dress can either be dressed up with a bright colour top and accessories or (if you enjoy wearing all black like me) can be left as a simple piece. The crossed back adds extra detail and the straps are adjustable.

5. Jungle T-Shirt

This Lilo and Stitch off the shoulder t-shirt is adorable! It comes in this beautiful dark green/blue colour and the flower print is both on the front and the back. Not to mention the super cute embroidered Stitch on the chest.

6. Stay At Home Festival 2020

This is a very important T-Shirt to get for summer 2020. The festival-style lineup on the back is a funny take on lockdown and a positive way to remember this time. This T-Shirt would look really cool paired with shorts.

7. Scales Bikini Set

Although a lot of us won’t be able to get to a beach anytime soon, this bikini is still a must-have. This ‘The Little Mermaid’ bikini is exclusive to EMP and comes in this gorgeous lilac-green metallic colour. The bottoms have a mermaid scale pattern and the top is designed in this beautiful seashell shape.

8. Roses Slipper

These are the perfect summer sliders for daytime wear. The super comfy material will have you wearing them all day and the rose details add a pretty feminine look. The perfect addition to any casual outfit.

9. Camoscio High Heel

If you’re looking for a summer shoe that’s a bit less casual, then this is the one for you. This shoe comes with a heel height of 9.5 cm and a rounded toe cap. Perfect for dressing up any summer outfit.

10. Golden Sun Sunglasses

Every summer outfit needs a pair of sunglasses and the gorgeous gold coloured lenses attracted me to this pair immediately. With an EMP engraving at the end of the arm and contained in an EMP sunglasses case, these sunglasses are a must-have summer accessory for everyone.

How To Look Like A Disney Princess: Snow White

With us all being stuck in isolation at the minute, a lot of us are struggling to find activities to do to fill the time. However, have you ever thought about turning yourself into a Disney Princess? Well, I certainly have so I decided to take you guys through how I transformed myself into Snow White using makeup. This step by step guide will show you how to achieve the look shown above, including the products and techniques I used.

*DISCLAIMER: I am not a professional make up artist, I just enjoy experimenting with makeup and have been practising for a few years. All these steps can be adjusted to suit you however you like. Makeup has no rules so just have fun! :)*

Step 1: Before you start, make sure your skin is cleansed and moisturised. I’m currently using the Simple Kind to Skin Day Cream. Next, I use my Benefit The POREfessional Pearl Primer and massage it in using my fingertips.

Step 2: After that, I use my L’Oreal Paris Infallible 24HR Freshwear Foundation (mine’s in the shade Porcelain) with my real techniques brush (I’ve searched the whole internet but I can’t find the name of this brush if anyone knows please leave it in the comments). I use one pump on the back of my hand, dip my brush in and blend the product into my skin using circular motions. Remember to blend it under the chin as well.

Step 3: To ensure the foundation is blended into the skin nicely, I gently pat my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge around the face.

Step 4: Next, I use my Makeup Revolution Conceal And Define Concealer (mine’s in the shade C0.5) and place it under the eyes, on my forehead, on my chin and on the tip of my nose to brighten those areas and around the bottom of my nose to reduce the redness there. I blend that in using one of these really cute Real Techniques Mini Miracle Complexion Sponges.

Step 5: This bit may seem a bit weird at first and I know I look crazy but just trust me. I took the concealer and placed it on top of my eyebrows and blended it in using the Miracle Complexion Sponge.

Step 6: Time to set it all in place. I’m using the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in shade 003 Peach Glow with a large fluffy powder brush, this one is from Avon. Instead of sweeping the brush over the skin, I gently press the brush into my face. This technique will not move the foundation and concealer and will leave a flawless matte finish. I also make sure to go over the eyebrows as well.

Step 7: Snow White has quite a strong pink blush so to mimic this, I use the Makeup Revolution Blusher Reloader in the shade Pink Lady. As you can see, I dropped mine and it broke which I’m really gutted about but it still works fine. I took this on a smaller fluffy brush from Avon and swept it in circular motions starting from the apple of my cheek and then moving it along my cheekbone. Don’t be afraid to use a lot of this product if you’re looking to accurately mimic Snow White’s look. You may think you look like a clown at first but it will all come together in the end. I actually decided to put some more blush on later in the tutorial as I didn’t put enough on in the step.

Step 8: Next I used a white eye pencil (this one is from Rimmel London) and ran it through my eyebrows. I then set it again using the Stay Matte Powder and the Mini Miracle Complexion Sponge. This technique is to ensure that my natural eyebrows are as covered as they can be for the next step.

Step 9: Eyebrows! Now, this is definitely not how I would do my eyebrows normally but this is a really good way to get those thin curved eyebrows that Snow White has. Start by drawing three dots near the top of your natural eyebrow, one where you would like the eyebrow to start, the second where you would like the curve to be and the last where you would like the tail to end. To do this I’m using the Morphe Micro Brow Pencil in the shade Mocha. Connect the dots by drawing a thin line using your pencil.

Step 10: I cleaned up any mistakes by taking a bit of the Conceal And Define Concealer on the back of my hand and using a Real Techniques Detailer Brush to dip in the concealer and slowly run over the top of the brow.

Step 11: Now onto eyes! I start by taking natural in the Morphe 15D Day Slayer Palette as a transition colour to go in the crease of the eyelid. I apply this using a soft back and forth motion with my BH Cosmetics 101 Blending Brush. As Snow White has rounded eyes, I ensure not to brush the colour out any further than where my eye ends and to focus it mainly in the centre of the crease. This will give the illusion of a more rounded eye.

Step 12: Next, I’m taking my Makeup Revolution Forever Flawless Fire Palette and dipping a smaller blending brush into the colour Volcanic. I then sweep this colour back and forth on the lid. Then, I take the colour Burn on the same brush and focus that colour on the outer third of the eye, ensuring I blend the colours toward the centre of the eyelid to enhance that rounded shape.

Step 13: Taking the BH cosmetics 105 Pencil Brush and the shade Burn, I blend the colour in the centre under my eye.

Step 14: If you are uncomfortable with applying eyeliner to your waterline then you can skip this step. Start by using your index finger to gently pull down on the skin just below your eye. Take a sharpened, clean brown eye pencil (This is the LA Girl Eyeliner In the shade Medium Brown) and run it calmly along the waterline. P.S. I apologise for how strange I look in these pictures

Step 15: Next, I line the upper lash line using my Morphe Gel Liner in the shade Jet. I personally prefer using gel eyeliners for this step but if you prefer liquid or felt tip, then that’s absolutely fine. I take a bit on my Real Techniques Definer Brush and apply it by looking down in my mirror. I’ve made the liner in the centre of the lash line a little bit thicker than on the edges to compliment the rounded eye shape we’re trying to achieve.

Step 16: Then, I’m using my favourite mascara the Benefit Bad Gal Bang on my upper eyelashes. Don’t apply any mascara to the bottom lashes. If you don’t want to wear false eyelashes then you can leave the eye makeup here and move onto step 18.

Step 17: For false eyelashes, I chose the House Of Lashes Etheral Mini set. These natural-looking eyelashes are perfect for this pretty princess look. I use these with my Duo 2 in 1 Brush On Striplash Adhesive. Before you apply, ensure the eyelashes are trimmed to fit your eye size. Always trim from the outer corner of the lash. Then, hold your lashes with a pair of tweezers and run a layer of lash glue along the strip of the lash. Wait 30 seconds for the glue to dry up a bit and go tacky (you can shake the lash or blow on the glue if you are impatient like me). Look down into your mirror and gently place the lash as close to the lash line as you can. Make sure you push the inner and outer corners into place. Repeat on the other eye.

Step 18: Now for one of the most important steps in any Snow White look, the red lip! Firstly, I take the Maybelline Colour Sensational lip liner in Brick Red and line my lips in a similar shape to Snow White’s. I then use the lipliner to fill in the rest of the lip. I then take the Makeup Revolution Creme Lip in the shade Destiny 133 and run it over the top of the lip liner. Taking a tissue, I blot the lips to ensure I don’t get lipstick on my teeth. To finish the look, I take my Soap And Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Pillow Plump XXL Lip Gloss over the top of the red lip.

Grab a wig and a dress and there you go! You’ve transformed into Snow White 🙂

Guest Blog: Chelsea O’Brien’s guide to Maternity Fashion!

At EMP, we work with lots of talented bloggers covering all genres from alternative fashion and Rock & Metal to Harry Potter , Disney and superheroes . Now it would be selfish to keep these talents to ourselves and didn’t share them with our lovely readers!

Today’s blog is a special one because it’s covering our lovely influencer Chelsea O’Brien’s (aka: @MummaBabyDoll ) pregnancy journey and what she wore to stay both comfortable and on brand with her awesome image! Without further ado, lets kick off Chelsea’s blog post!

2 Weeks

It’s late o’clock in the day and I’ve just finished up my daily routine of streaming to my nearly 40k followers on Twitch. For the past few years my job has been sitting at a desk making my way up into the Entertainment business, however today I got news that the next 9 months are going to be completely different. My apartment is going to be accident proofed, my mood swings are going to be crazy but more worryingly, my wardrobe is going to change. All the new clothes from EMP that I only just received for Christmas are no longer going to fit because today I found out…

I’m finally pregnant.

12 Weeks

I’m finally showing – my wardrobe needs an emergency makeover. I turn on my computer and Google: emp.co.uk and do a quick search for ‘Maternity Fashion’. I’ve been a loyal customer of EMP for 4 years now, even wearing their clothes in my first magazine feature.

As expected, a variety of fashionable maternity clothes stare back at me with all their unique ‘growing room’ abilities. Pregnancy can be difficult for a lot of women due to the changes it makes to your body. Many of my friends that have had children expressed that they needed to keep buying new clothes over and over again because “Maternity Clothes are uncomfortable and easy to grow out of.”

I’ve never had a problem with uncomfortable clothes from EMP, which is why I am here now looking at their website for the clothes that I would be wearing for the next 6 months. I pick out my first three tops:

Ultrasound Metal Hand Baby

Cool Mom t-shirt

It`s Not For Me! It`s For The Baby!

“Cool” Mom is an understatement – I’m also “Comfy” Mom and “Why would anyone go anywhere else for their Maternity Clothes” Mom. I didn’t need to worry about comfort or size with these tops, they fit and feel perfect.

My close friend just found out that she’s pregnant too – I know exactly what I’m getting her for her birthday.

20 Weeks

It’s time for our ‘Gender Reveal’ party. I’ve just received a package in the post that has my party attire folded neatly away inside. I can’t wait to see the reactions of my friends and family when they find out what I’m having.

I appear downstairs wearing my Which Gender? Boy or Girl? T-shirt . I’m proud to show off my top as everyone keeps complimenting me about my fashion. “Comfort and looks good?!” one of my friends exclaimed. They can’t believe the quality in just a single item of clothing – wait until they see my wardrobe…

34 Weeks

It’s the spookiest night of the year! I’m pairing up with my little girl, Rhivér for our joint Halloween costume. Using my Baby On Board long-sleeve shirt , partnered with some spooky face paint, we quickly become the highlight of the party.

38 Weeks

It’s almost time. I look to my side and see my ‘Hospital Bag’ all packed and ready to go with all the essentials, including our little girl’s first outfit. My emotions are all over the place but I’m mostly filled with excitement. Excited to get back to my normal size (mainly so I can explore all the new outfits that EMP have released this year), excited to be able to touch my toes for the first time in months but of course, I’m mostly excited to come home with another member of my growing family.

EMP’s Maternity clothing has made such a positive impact in my life this year, making this pregnancy 10x more comfortable for me. The worry of having a new wardrobe was blown out of existence as soon as I received my first 2 tops. By this point, I own over 70% of EMP’s Maternity and baby/kids merchandise.

Even my ‘Going Home’ clothes include a Bambi jumper and Varsity jacket to match my daughters first outfit. We’re going to make a great looking pair as we take our first steps out into the World together.

Thank you, EMP.

Gothicana: How To Wear Black In Summer

After what felt quite a lot like a never-ending winter, summer is finally on its way. Which means we’re shedding our coats and boots and thinking about holiday plans, beer gardens and of course our summer wardrobes! This season’s all about bright mini dresses, denim hotpants, neon heels and Hawaiian-print shirts, right?

Or – if you’re us, it’s more about figuring out how to avoid burning our whiter-than-white bodies at the inevitable festivals this year, and whether or not an all-black beachwear look is a thing (hint – yes, it is!). If, like us, you’re all about maintaining your immaculate Gothic look well into the sunnier months then welcome – you’re in the right place!

Fortunately for all of us for whom summer is not exactly our natural habitat, Gothicana by EMP has got our (slightly burnt) backs with a huge range of summer-ready clothing that absolutely does NOT feature any bright prints, florals or orange and yellow. I mean, do these designers not know how bad us pale girls look in yellow? Oh, and to make shopping for your not-so-summery summer wardrobe even easier and more fun, we’re currently offering an amazing 15% discount on the whole Gothicana range if you use the code EMPUKGOTH15

So let’s dive in and have a look at a few of our favourite pieces from the range that are destined to be part of our festival and holiday looks this year.

I for one cannot be without a good corset or three, and while admittedly I have been wearing them on nights out even during the winter, I think that the right corset is an absolute MUST for festival season. Not all corsets are ideal at a festival though, as you also want to be able to dance and have fun, as well as looking amazing. In my opinion, the Namrael corset ticks all the boxes. This overbust corset is lined with cotton so it’s more breathable and comfy than many other corsets, but without sacrificing an ounce of glamour. The lace detailing is so on point, and it makes a perfect ‘cross-over’ corset that can be worn either with a dramatic skirt or with jeans for a more everyday look.

I’m going to be wearing mine with the Belladonna skirt, which is a simple and casual summer mini skirt with just enough of a hint of lace peeking out from underneath to keep things interesting, and the New Rock Dryade heeled boots – which are definitely worth grabbing while they’re discounted rather than forking out full price! Just check out the subtle floral embossing and the way that the lacing loops back through the heel. This is the level of detailing that I need in my shoes!

In case you’re going to hit the beach or pool at some point, you might also want to check out the Rockaway Beach bikini which keeps things interesting with the elaborate straps across the chest and cut-outs at the sides of the briefs. It looks even more perfect if you have a tattoo or two. Accessories with the biggest possible sunglasses and factor 50. Maybe I’ll even go the whole way and shade myself with the Varnish Umbrella. Is it cool or too much? I still can’t decide, so please let me know your thoughts in the comments!

Of course summer wouldn’t be complete without a dress or two. I am going to risk my metal-girl credentials here a bit and say that I am actually loving this Oh Boy! dress. Yes I know that pastels might not seem like the most obvious choice, but check out the spookily adorable bat print. Sometimes it’s just too hot for black, and I will definitely be throwing this in my holiday suitcase. Can’t find what you want here? Check out the rest of our Gothicana range where we have hundred of items waiting for you!

Don’t forget, the amazing 15% discount is valid on all Gothicana clothing and accessories until 29th April. Just use the code EMPUKGOTH15 to treat yourself. Oh and tag us in your gorgeous outfits on Instagram, of course! See you at M’era Luna!

New Year, New You!

Its’s 2018! And no new year would be complete without a new set of resolutions. EMP has the rundown on some handy fashion related resolutions to get your wardrobe as ready for the new year as you are!

·        Add some colour

Have you thought about bringing some colour to your closet? One of the best ways to refresh your wardrobe is by adding some new shades to your ensemble. Adding colour to your wardrobe is one of the best ways to challenge yourself and add some freshness to your style. There are multiple ways to add a new look to your wardrobe – you can add a sprinkle of new accessories, you could create new color combinations, experiment with prints – the sky’s the limit! Check out our EMP jumpers, cardigans, dresses and more to bring this extra touch to your style.

·         Organise your wardrobe

A great resolution for the new year is sorting out your wardrobe. Ever found yourself thinking you have nothing to wear? Well the chances are you do! Organising your wardrobe can help you figure out just what choices you have in your times of need. The ways to organise your wardrobe are endless:

By Season – Separating your clothes by summer and winter should make a big improvement in your wardrobe organisation and have you looking good no matter the weather!

Frequency  – Arranging your clothes by how much you use them can help you figure out what clothes are going underused or even what clothes you don’t really want any more.

Similarity – Grouping clothes that look alike is a great way to choose clothes for certain occasions e.g. partywear, house clothes.

These are just a few ways, the possibilities are endless!

Once you’ve decided how you’re going to organise your clothes, storage is next. Keeping everything stored in it’s correct place, can be a great tool in keeping your pieces organised and a great gift to future you! So whether it’s using boxes, drawers, bags, rails, cupboards, stands, hangers, cabinets just use one rule – everything should be stored!

·         Throw it away!

Whether it’s clothes, shoes or accessories, it’s simple – keep everything you like that’s useful and  throw away the rest! Don’t hesitate – are those tops way too small for you? too big? Completely faded? Then they have no reason to be part of your wardrobe!

If the idea of throwing stuff away puts you off, simply give them away or resell them! Reselling your unwanted clothing will not only give more storage space in your wardrobe but also bring more extra pocket money to buy new basics you need for 2018.

The items you consider out of date or old fashioned can always be precious pieces for someone else. In fact vintage clothes are a great trend nowadays (just ask Macklemore) so why not give it a go and become an active online seller – eBay’s calling! If you’re not comfortable with online, a boot sale is always a great alternative to getting rid, just check the events happening around your area and get involved.

·         Get active!

No list of New Year resolutions is complete without the daddy of all resolutions – getting down the gym!  Picking a nice outfit is something that can be neglected when looking for something as functional as sportswear. But a good looking gym kit can boost your confidence which can actually help fuel your motivation to work out more and stay longer at the gym! Also it’s worth mentioning that wearing sportwear outside your gym is becoming trendy and is only getting trendier. Sports style is becoming more and more  of an on-street fashion, so a good piece of activewear can have a great piece for all occasions!

Check out our mens and womens clothing ranges for some 2018 clothing inspiration.
